Elk River Falls

     Elk River Falls is in the town of Elk Park, NC on Elk River Rd not too far from Beach Mountain and Banner Elk. Your GPS should get you there but you may think you are going the wrong way because of the long and narrow road.  When the pavement ends you are almost there. Parking is limited so be aware you may not be able to park.
     From the parking area, you are at the small falls above the main falls.  It is a short hike to the top of the main falls. There are warning signs about the dangers around the falls. Please read and be careful.
     Following the trail, you will end up at the bottom of the falls. There are plenty of viewing places and wading/swimming is allowed but be careful.
