Fall is here and it is a great time to clean your chimney for the coming heating season. Do It Yourself Chimney Sweep is a video of how I clean my Chimney or Flue.

I start with talking about the tools used to clean the flue. I use a round wire brush and several flexible fiberglass rods. I also have my DeWalt impact Driver to make things go faster. I start with disassembly, I remove the cap first then proceed to show sweeping the flue and cleaning the cap. The flue does not need to be squeaky clean, just remove the creosote buildup. Then reassemble the parts.

Next I go inside my house to my Fisher Mama Bear Wood Stove. I proceed to demonstrate cleaning the stove with a few more tips. And then I am done. I will need to clean up around the outside of the stove but it’s ready for a fire.
