Dehydrating Apples in a Food Dehydrator

August 25, 2022 Off By thebolnadmin

Fall is coming and fresh apples will be plentiful. Drying Apples is an excellent way to preserve them for later. This video will show the method we use for dehydrating apples in a food dehydrator. Our dehydrator is very old, but works well. You can use the same method if drying your apples in another type of appliance.

We start by washing the apples, then we use an Apple Peeler Slicer Corer to get them ready for the dehydrator, you can purchase one here: https://amzn.to/2YNEVcorrect a drafty doorRO. Then we place them on trays in the dehydrator for 2 days. Some methods are faster but this is what we use. They will be turned twice each day so they dry evenly. When they are dried to our liking, we store them in small Ziploc bags.

This makes a delicious and healthy snack that can be stored over the winter. They make a great snack for work or school, but we save them to take as a snack when hiking. They are nutritious and light weight, making them an outstanding  choice.
